Israeli IDF soldier, Guy Hever, disappeared in 1997. According to some witnesses, he was seen in captivity in Syria. Working close with The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the family of the soldier, I created an entirely fake product with his face as our logo and story behind it.
Meet Eldorado Tea. A family run company from Jordan. Through connections and lots of red tape, we managed to establish the company in Syria and sell our product in multiple grocery store chains. The flavors included were Sage, Jasmin and Camomile. The boxes contained cut out coasters that held a secret message with heat sensitive ink. Once you put a hot glass of tea on the coaster, you would see the text, "Recognize the man in our logo?" a short description of Guy Hever would appear and also, a phone number for any information.
In the first round of distribution, we sold 42,000 boxes of tea in Damascus and other areas of Syria and received multiple tips that were given to the appropriate authorities.
